Women and Money – it’s Different
I specialise in empowering women to break free from the constraints that hinder their path to financial freedom.

What you do is more important than what you teach

From the beginning, my journey was shaped by societal expectations and limitations rooted in traditional gender roles. Armed with a Master's degree in psychology, I embarked on my career journey filled with ambition and potential. However, my first marriage introduced unexpected challenges. Despite my qualifications, societal norms and my husband's beliefs confined me to a part-time, low-paying job. The assumption that, as a mother, my primary role was domestic and nurturing left me feeling underutilized and undervalued in the formal economy.

Divorce brought both emotional turmoil and newfound freedom. Overcoming guilt associated with pursuing a career while needing childcare was a significant hurdle. Yet, this period marked a turning point—a decision to reclaim my professional identity and financial independence, driven by a deep-seated desire to provide stability and security for myself and my children.

Navigating the workforce as a young mother brought its own set of challenges. I often felt judged—either for being too ambitious or not ambitious enough—by societal standards that seemed to shift unpredictably. Despite my capabilities, the gender pay gap remained a stark reality, impacting my ability to save and invest effectively compared to my male counterparts.

Despite these challenges, my determination to achieve financial goals—such as homeownership, saving for my children's education, and ensuring our future security—provided a clear direction amid uncertainty. Each milestone toward financial independence strengthened my confidence and resolve. I realized that embracing my capabilities fully and challenging societal norms about women's roles was not just empowering for me but essential for future generations.

Today, reflecting on my journey, I recognize the importance of advocating for oneself and forging a path that aligns with personal aspirations rather than societal expectations. By embracing financial independence and equality within relationships, we empower ourselves and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
